The Queen's Birthday Honours 2017

The recent Queen's Birthday Honours announced the award of the George Medal to Bernard Kenny, for his assistance to Jo Cox MP

In addition, PC Keith Palmer was awarded a posthumous George Medal for confronting an armed terrorist to protect others and Parliament.

The following were also awarded the Queen's Gallantry Medal

Ian Bugler for the attempted rescue of a woman trapped in a cave.

PC Craig Nicholls and PC Jonathon Wright of West Yorkshire Police for the arrest of the murderer of Jo Cox MP.

All members of the Gallantry Medallists League will wish to join me in congratulating these individuals for their well deserved awards. We hope they will join the League in due course.

The League was founded in 1931. Please read the brief history of the Gallantry Medallists' League and its predecessors. If you have any information about the early years, then we would be delighted to hear from you so we can amend our history for future generations of gallantry medal recipients and their families.
